Sirmione, is a charming place, a charming medieval village whose only entrance is dominated by the imposing size of the Rocca Scaligera.

The Scaligero castle is one of the most complete and best preserved castles in Italy, as well as a rare example of lake fortification.

Walking through the streets of the center is like taking a trip into the past: the characteristic narrow and irregular streets, the buildings with exposed bricks and stones evoke the style in the Venetian era, surrounded by various and picturesque shops for shopping. To visit, the church of S. Maria Maggiore, also called Santa Maria della Neve, is the parish church, its construction dates back to the late fifteenth century; the church of San Pietro in Mavino, of ancient origins that according to tradition was built by local fishermen. The villa of Maria Callas, the lakefront, the hot and sulfurous Bojola spa source famous for its healing properties and the Grotte di Catullo which are the most impressive example of Roman villa architecture in northern Italy.
